No. A step too far.

5inthebed · 26/07/2010 19:41

I love it, my favourite boys name, DH hated it hence my three boys not being called it.

Haliborange · 26/07/2010 19:41

I quite like like it but would never used it because the only Duncan I have ever known was a total sociopath.

MummyLovesSadie · 26/07/2010 19:44

Yuk! Bald swimmer from the 70's!

sweetnitanitro · 26/07/2010 19:53

I like it too but the only Duncan I know may be the same one as Haliborange's Duncan.

ZZZenAgain · 26/07/2010 19:54

foreverastudent · 26/07/2010 19:55

PaintingTheFence · 26/07/2010 20:04

It's OK.

meadowlarks · 26/07/2010 20:08

I like it, but again the only one I've ever known was a manic depressive alcoholic.

QuantaCosta · 26/07/2010 20:09

NoSleepTillWeaning · 26/07/2010 20:10

I have always liked it but the negative responses from our family meant we never used it.

DreamTeamGirl · 26/07/2010 21:25

I think its lush! Wouldnt have thought if it, but its lovely, especially if you are scottish

usualsuspect · 26/07/2010 21:26

Reminds me of blue peter ..have no idea why

treas · 26/07/2010 21:31

My first BF's name - my sis used to call him Hunky Dunky, because he wasn't!

He'd have nn of Dunk or Dun - and that's if he's lucky.

PaulineCampbellJones · 26/07/2010 21:35

Love it. My very dashing gynae consultant is called Duncan!

Haliborange · 26/07/2010 21:54

@usualsuspect - because of Peter Duncan!

mslucy · 26/07/2010 22:04

my BIL.
a management consultant who spends his weekends in lycra (he's an obsessive cyclist)
He is just about to marry a russian woman he met on match.com.
His previous wife left him.
Because he is a nob.

Like it.

CakeandRoses · 26/07/2010 23:07

Like it. Had an evil boss called Duncan once but he was quite powerful and charismatic too so it hasn't put me off!

Surprised that there's been quite a few negative responses to it - I'd have thought it quite a middle of the road name (in a good way).

BelligerentGhoul · 26/07/2010 23:08

No, sorry. I just think of Macbeth - 'who would have thought the old man would have so much blood in him?'

Polly1987 · 27/07/2010 12:09

Don't listen to these swines!! Its a great name!
