Names for boy

My DH and I are struggling to pick names if we have a boy (not going to find out before). We have girl's names but can't decide for a boy. So far we have:

Alexander
Ben
Charles
George
Harry
Issac
James
Matthew
Samuel
Finlay

For a middle name, we are thinking William (DH's dad's name).

what do you think?

I like

Alexander

Charles

I quite like

Isaac
James
Samuel

All of the above would go very nicely with William.

Not so keen on

Ben
Harry (unless short for Henry)
Matthew
Finlay

I love Isaac and Samuel.

James is my favourite of this bunch.

George

I like them all except Charles and all go well with William as middle name (except Ben perhaps?)

Finlay really really common.

Really don't like Samuel. Just the sound of it is really yucky to me, don't know why. The rest of them are lovely! Matthew is lovely. Harry is also great.

Love Harry, Charles (assuming using Charlie), Samuel and James. All classic and go with William.

Like George and Matthew, dont go mad though.

Don't like Issac, Finlay (very popular), Alexander or Ben.

My DS is James so I'm biased! Stepson is Alexander but always called Alex and I personally don't like it when their actual name is never used. When he started school he came home very annoyed that he had 'an ander on his name and no-one told him'!

I don't like Samuel but we are considering Sam for DS2. Ben, Harry and Finlay are very popular but I like all 3. Put off Matthew because as they get older all their friends will call him maffyew! I love William and George.
