39 weeks and still can't decide on a name! - DH likes Poppy, I like Rosie and we both like Lucy - any thoughts would be welcome...

Poppy is my favorite

I'm called Lucy and have always liked it. Rosie is a lovely name as is Poppy but I went on catholic school camp with a Poppy, she always sniffed her knickers so it always puts me off that name sorry!

lavitabellissima! Eeeuuuwww!

Anyway, I am not keen on Poppy, definitely pretty for a little baby but I just feel like it's one of those names that doesn't suit an adult.

I like Lucy and Rosie. Can't decide between those 2! Both lovely.

I like Lucy, and prefer Lucinda with Lucy as a nn.
Lucy is a simple, classic name that she can take anywhere.

autodidact · 24/07/2010 16:39

Go with the one you both like.

loobylu3 · 24/07/2010 17:46

Lucy!

CharlieBoo · 24/07/2010 19:09

I'm a Lucy and like it, very rarely meet anyone my age with it, so hi to the other Lucy's!

I do like Poppy though! Totally disagree about it being a childs name. In years to come there will be a generation of Poppy's, Millie's, Daisy's, Tilly's etc.

Good luck

telsa · 24/07/2010 20:41

Lucy it is such a sweet name and seems quite uncommon.

nowwearefour · 24/07/2010 20:44

They are all lovely= you have great taste! you both need to agree on it though so if netiehr of you likes lucy enough (I loved it so much but dh ruled it out at the last minute for dd2) find something else maybe? I do agree maybe about poppy not suiting at woman- age but prob a personal opinion!

Jojay · 24/07/2010 20:47

Don't feel you have to decide now. You have a shortlist of 3 lovely names. Why not wait until she arrives and see which feels right then?

DinahRod · 24/07/2010 20:47

Lucy is timeless and fab.

Thank you all for the advice - yes will wait and see how we feel when she arrives but very helpful to get your views!
