Robin middle name? Help!

I'm having a boy

So ever since I hit on the name Robin it just feels right, like it's my son's name and dh likes it too. Huzzah!

however I really hate the thought of my baby being called Rob or Robbie, it has too many nineties connotations for me I think. SO I plan on giving him Robin as his middle name and using it as his first name, as if it's a nn then people are less likely to shorten it iyswim?

So suggestions for first names please! All the names I liked prior to this were old testament, Saul was the frontrunner actually although suggestions welcome from all origins. Just really want it to flow nicely although christopher has been ruled out by dh!

I haven't any suggestions, but just wanted to say it's a lovely name! I had it in my head for my baby, until I found out she was a girl, and like you it just felt right. Good luck in finding something you like.

DS1 is Matthew Robin. The Robin he was named after has only ever been called Robin, never shortened. In the end it is the choice of the person whose name it is, so if you insist on Robin for him as a child and then he decides to be Rob or Bob it is his choice.

Please use it as his first name. I've been known by my middle name all my life and it can be a PITA.

I know three Robins (four if you count one that is female). None has ever to my knowledge been called Rob or Robbie.

Robin is a lovely name. I'd just use it as his first name if I were you.

Lovely name
I know 3, 2 boys and one adult. None are known as Rob or Robbie.

Robin Edward works well IMHO.
