Sophia Alyssa or Esme India...

Hello all, I'm thinking of choosing the name Sophia Alyssa for my baby (Alyssa being the middle name.) I've always loved it and it works pretty well with our surname too which is double-barrelled. However, I'm also getting more and more tempted by Esme India. Any views, thoughts would be kindly received!

Thank you.

OK, well never mind, must have mislaid my sense of humour today, sorry!

PuppyMonkey · 20/07/2010 15:31

Thanks zen! No worries Capital!

Sophia Alyssa is nice, and Esme is pretty. I think India is a silly name, tbh.

lovingthesun · 08/08/2010 23:16

India maybe a silly name in your opinion, but in this case, I think I think it's rather nice with it's history.

Also like Es-mee rather than Es-mae..just don't like the maaaaae sound.

zenoushka · 09/08/2010 09:50

Thanks - i like the history of using India! I also much prefer the Es-mee pronunciation than the Es-mae one.

Love India so my vote would be Esme India, although not keen on Esme really but do prefer it to Sophie.

diddl · 09/08/2010 17:43

I don´t like Esme, but I love India.

BelligerentGhoul · 09/08/2010 17:48

Love Esme; not fond of India (but see it at least has personal meaning to you and dp, so makes sense to use it). Don't like Sophia Alyssa.

mathanxiety · 10/08/2010 00:11

Esme Sophia India? Normally I would steer clear of India, but you have a genuine link.

I think Alyssa is far too frilly, to the point of fluffiness, and a bit Disneyish.

Kathleen123 · 10/08/2010 11:22

I like the name Amber.

CreepyFunbags · 10/08/2010 12:58

Hmm, both nice. I think you should see what she looks like and save the other name for number two!

zenoushka · 08/01/2013 22:50

So in the end we chose Anya Jasmine. She just didn't look like a Sophia or an Esme!
