Hello

I'm looking into scottish names at the moment - my DH's family are scottish and DS1 has a scottish name.

I like the look of Nairne but can't find anywhere that explains the pronunciation.
Does anyone know?

Thanks

I've only ever heard/seen it as Nairn.

I'd pronounce it Nayrn. 1st syllable rhyming with Hay.

Nick Nairn is a Scottish chef is he not? pronounced as it looks n-air-n.

Is Nairne a boys name or a girls name?

I wonder if you used this if people would wonder if it was meant to say Nairn?

Norny?

It's a surname, isn't it? Pronounced N-air-n.
