I really like them both, had settled on Max although I know it's popular, but am increasingly swaying towards Denny. DH not so sure.

What do you all think?

I love Max but Denny is short for Dennis, which could never be a cool name. A Max could grow up to be anything, whereas a Denny could never be anything other than a geek...

polkadottytotty · 11/07/2010 21:23

Never heard of Denny before - I like it. And could be a nn for Dennis which is cute too.
Max is also nice - a very strong name, my DH would love this if we had another boy.

janeite · 11/07/2010 21:24

I like both of them but think I like Denny best.

janeite · 11/07/2010 21:24

Not Dennis though.

Denny sounds quite cool to me.

SparklyJules · 11/07/2010 21:31

Denny? Was that the heart guy Izzy was going to marry in Grey's Anatomy? I like the sound of it, don't think it sounds geeky at all.

moominmarvellous · 11/07/2010 21:47

Well I don't like Dennis either, and realise he may go through life with people saying Dennis? Danny? and then him corecting them, but I think it's different enough without being too out there.

I've never watched Grey's Anatomy, but think its an American name. Have been helpfully informed that there is a chain of restaurants in America called Denny's.......I beleive is a similar establishment as a Wimpy here - maybe Wimpy will catch on as a boys name in the US???

Denny is Rita's husband in Educating Rita. Perhaps it has Irish roots? No idea though - am just guessing!

LetThereBeRock · 11/07/2010 22:47

Not Denny.

CoteDAzur · 11/07/2010 22:50

What about Danny, short for Daniel?

SandyBits · 11/07/2010 22:52

Are you naming a child or a dog?
Denny? Denny??

CapitalText · 11/07/2010 23:07

Max

moominmarvellous · 11/07/2010 23:38

A child otherwise would have posted in Pets Names.

Max.

LaRagazzaInglese · 12/07/2010 01:25

The only Denny i know is a girl, on a boy it sounds a bit like Danny, but as much as i like Max, Denny is more unique.

twosofar · 12/07/2010 14:33

My Mum's best friend in her mid sixties is called Denny, short for Denise.

It's a middle aged lady's name and not a proper name either.

Max Max Max

FranSanDisco · 12/07/2010 14:38

I know a Denny and it is short for Dennis in his case. I like it and I like Danny but can see people saying Danny? when you say Denny. I love Max - it suits any age.

Kathleen123 · 12/07/2010 16:15

Max
