Baby monitors: aaaargh

Am not due for a couple of months so thought I'd research baby monitors.

Money is tight so can only really consider second-hand/under £50. Looking for a video one that's rechargeable, doesn't use Wi-Fi (for privacy and because our Wi-Fi is shit), and with a decent range. I don't want to have an app because my phone is ancient but could budge on this if brings the cost down.

Does this baby monitor exist?!

Vtech VM3254. Works for me!

I would only suggest that if you purchase one, try a known brand (BT, Vtech, maxicosi) etc etc. I’ve seen reports of the cheap ones on Amazon from unknown brands being hacked so it massively put me off.

the branded ones will be expensive new but if you are looking at second hand then you should be able to find something.

I have an old BT one I’d be happy to give away but no idea where in the country you are!

I've got a vtech one that I got from boots for £59. It's still going 2.5 years later

I have a BT 6000 one that might work for you, I'm not sure you can get them new anymore but ebay has them for under £50. I've had it about 3 years and still going strong.

@TafalBT stopped making monitors 😢

We use a VTech, never had any issues! Got ours on eBay for £20 and have had it years! Still use it with DD as I don’t often hear her if she wants me.
