Monitor or Smart Home?

First time parents here, should we get a traditional baby monitor, or is there a benefit to getting a Smart system such as Hive with a camera?

You don’t really need a monitor for the first 6 months or so as baby will be with you for all naps and sleeps, so plenty of time to research!

Can Hive be used as anything other than a monitor? Because if so I’d be inclined to get that as it’ll have a use once you no longer need a monitor.
