Does such a video monitor exist?
What I would like in a video monitor is one where the screen only comes up if the volume is above a certain level i.e. if my baby cries. I have tried the BT Video Monitor 5000 and 6000 but the screen lights up and illustrates our bedroom if there is the slightest shuffle or cough from our baby - this means it seems to go on and off all night. I can change the settings so the screen doesn't come on at all, but this results in a very annoying white-noise effect coming from the monitor.
I've also tried the HOMIEE 720P Wireless Video Baby which almost does the trick - with this one you can set the sensitivity of the microphone. Unfortunately not only does the screen light up when my baby cries, but a crazy alarm goes off too! I want one where the screen comes on but without an alarm that wakes us with a jolt.
The latter monitor also has a battery which only lasts a mere 4 hours - this meant I had to remember to carry the charging cable to/from the living room each night which was less than ideal. The BT monitors still needed changing overnight but at least they would last until we went to bed (so the charger was permanently kept in our bedroom).
