Help! Tomy monitor beeping- why?!

Help please! I've bought a second hand Tomy walkabout classic baby monitor for our holiday and the parent part keeps beeping. I don't have instructions and don't know what that means, can anyone help please?!
It's plugged in to the mains and I've tried moving it to a different location Incase it's reception but that doesn't help.
Hope someone knows the answer!

We had the tomy digital video plus monitor I would not recommend. it was great at the beginning but it was expensive and didn't work properly for long . It beeped if the parents part went out of range/lost signal from the camera monitor, if walls too tick to transfer signal.
if the battery was low on the parent's part.
The infa red function gave up after a year so no night vision.
If you bought it second hand, is it possible that the seller sold it knowing it was beginning to cause problems and wanted to recoup some of the money to buy another monitor?
