Been to the Drs today, suspected lupus, thoughts of mine and the GPs (also a family history of the disease) she’s order blood tests for next week, ANA test, liver function and also CRP. She stated in the appointment that my CRP would need to be raised for a referral, however, I’ve read online, even on the Lupus Uk website that raised CRP isn’t typical of lupus.

Any thoughts?
it’s one of those situations where I’m having to brace myself to correct her if she takes that approach (if my CRP is low, or in range, which is normally is)

Has she arranged a full panel to test for other auto immune diseases?
Depending on symptoms & results Sjogren's syndrome/disease often overlaps with Lupus. People often have both.
Do a bit of googling & check out the British Sjogrens Syndrome Association.
It's not "just" dry eyes, dry mouth & a bit of joint pain. There is a wide range of symptoms & severity.
Good luck.

You want ena aswell as ana and there's also other specialised tests too for lupus. I have all the lupus symptoms but no ana and it wasn't till I had cardiac POTS in work last week that a colleague told me to get a private rheum and then immuno referral (MCAS). Until then id just been fobbed off. And I specialise in imaging of sjogrens. So you'd think I'd know how to work the system and I have still been ignored by the GP for 2 years.
So I think you want a referral.
Be aware you can have secondary sjogrens with symptoms and no apparent diagnostic criteria but ime if you have positive autoimmune disease you may well have sjogrens symptoms but no diagnosis. Personally I think if you have a autoimmune connective tissue disease and symptoms it's just we can't see the change yet - not that you're imagining it.
