Hello,

I am currently TTC. Have had 1 round of IVF which was unsuccessful. Was about to undergo 2nd round of IVF and had my thyroid levels checked because I have high antibodies.

My TSH was 6.9 so my GP put me on 25mcg thyroxine. A week later I return to have my antibodies tested again, and they accidentally did another TSH test sigh. I just received the results and my TSH is now 2.53.

im so confused, the thyroxine couldn’t have worked that quickly could it? I would’ve been on it 3 days when I had the bloods taken.

i had cancelled my upcoming round and now I’m not sure if should have done!

anyway, if anyone can shed any light on why these levels may be fluctuating in such a short space of time, would be much appreciated :)

Time of day? TSH fluctuates all day. But regardless don't pay any attention to tests for at least 6 weeks after starting Levothyroxene or increases in your dose. It takes 6-8 weeks for everything to settle

@Flowerfairy13 the second blood test was in the morning and I had taken my thyroxine a few hours before, have since read that this can skew results. But yes like you said just waiting for the repeat test in 6 weeks to see!

Ah yes make sure you don't eat or drink anything other than water and don't take your Levo until after. Try to get a 9am (or as close to) test as possible
