Consultant mentioned a different med to try - been through sulfasalazine, methotrexate and Leflunomide. Thinks I am currently too stable for biologics referral but said there was something newish he could try. No idea what it was though! Any suggestions?

Could it be hydroxychloroquine?

Would be surprised if a consultant was going to recommend Hydroxychloroquine as “something new”, I’ve been on it for years as part of my RA meds.

would be interested to know what it is if it isn’t a biologic. I’ve been through two biologics that didn’t work (adalimumab and Baricitinib), now on Rituximab infusions, which seem to work.

Not hydroxy. I have an appointment next week so will let you know!

@jointproblems sis you find out what it is? How are you doing with it if so?

jointproblems · 30/05/2025 13:25

No progress here - consultant has now agreed to refer for biologics so no clue what the other option was!

Ah ok, good luck with your biologics. I hope it all gets sorted out soon.
