Coeliac tests

Hi, gp tested for this on Friday amongst other things; I didn't know he was going to.

I'm not eating much gluten simply because I'm eating a lot of whole grains and legumes and having oat cakes rather than crackers or biscuits. I'm not deliberately avoiding it but just don't eat much.

Last time I ate anything with was on the Tuesday of that week (two slices of bread.)

Will the lack of gluten for couple of days before the test affect the result (if I have a coeliac issue)?

When I was tested for coeliacs I was told to eat gluten for the weeks leading up to my endoscopy.
It was hideous and by the end I should have just chucked my meals straight down the loo - sorry tmi!

You won't get an accurate result if you're not eating gluten.

I'm sorry to hear how awful it was!

I don't have any noticeable issues with it so but possibly some vitamin issues based on symptoms. I just don't eat it a lot. iron in the autumn was really good. So I doubt i have coeliacs. They're checking 12 etc. I'm hypothyroid so think it's more linked to that.

I'll mention it to gp anyway
