Hi!

Just looking for some advice really.

My RA isn't really under control, hasn't been since diagnosis I'm up and down and making excuses.

I'm really wanting to get some exercise into my life, and stop making excuses. I hear Pilates is good but I've never done it.

I'm a bit worried about the impact on my wrists etc, I'm assuming trainer will support, how does anyone else manage?

I'm feeling nervous about signing up and making a fool of myself. I'm only 30 but just feel like I have an ancient body stiffness wise and I've lost 3st and just want to try and strengthen my body a bit to help my condition

I have psoriatic arthritis and sometimes find Pilates tough on my wrists, mainly planks etc.
I just drop onto my elbows

I have spondyloarthritis and do Pilates. The instructor is great at adapting the exercises so I can do them. Just make them aware of your limitations at the start. I’ve found it really useful for maintaining flexibility.

I would choose your instructor carefully. I have done rehabilitative pilates with a physio who was excellent. I have also done pilates in a local gym where the instructor didn't have a clue how to deal with any issues people had.

Thank you. This is what I've struggled finding in my small town. I have however found a yoga teacher who has experience with RA and other issues and she's invited me down for a taster and has some amendments.
I've never done yoga so going to give it a go !!
