Hello my Hashimoto friends,
can I ask what mg of levothyroxine you would think someone with
Serum free T4 level 10.5 pmol/L [7.7 - 15.1]
Serum TSH level (4.3 miu/L [0.34 - 5.6]
Would be on? I’m asking as I’m interested to know what others are on x

Hi

my last blood results

T4 16.3 (11.9-21.6)
TSH 3.12 (0.27-4.2)

I’m on 150mcg of thyroxine and have been for the past 3 years.
I would imagine you are on similar?

The aim of the levothyroxine is to keep your TSH, T3 and T4 at the optimum levels.

The dosage needed to do that will be different for every person depending on how operational their own thyroid is naturally.

So you can't look at blood tests and guess the levothyroxine dose. For you 25mcg could achieve that, for someone else it could be 125mcg.

All you can do is look at the blood test results and know if the dose needs to be increased or decreased or if it is working fine

Normal isn't enough if you have Hashimoto's
You need the very low end of normal. I reckon I have a TSH of 1.5 right now and feel awful.

T4 8.3 (last time it was 9.3)
TSH 0.66

I’m on 100mg and it’s getting there I think.

I am starting to cut out gluten to see if that helps any.
