Polymyositis

Does anyone have any experience of polymyositis they are able to share? Looking at a diagnosis and would be good to hear other’s experiences. Thank you

Hello, I have polymyositis associated with antisynthetase syndrome. Diagnosed about 3 months ago and now on high dose steroids and rituximab. I'm very fed up with the steroids. The myositis was horrible - the weakness wasn't too bad but I felt very generally ill with fever and awful fatigue. I'm much better on the steroids but the side effects aren't fun (my face is very round) Have you started any treatment yet? Hope you're not feeling too bad

Thank you for replying, I’m glad you are feeling better on steroids. I haven’t been diagnosed yet but at hospital appointment they seem fairly certain. Its scary as I’d never heard of it so thank you for your post.
