Recurring shingles, doc now mentioning Lupus...

I've had recurring shingles for the past few years - I'd say I've have it around 10-12 times in total, and I've had it five times this year. I had a shingles flare up in the middle of Sept and now have another one, two weeks later.

My symptoms (ongoing) are:

  • cold sore flare ups every month when I am due my period
  • recurring (and ever more frequent) shingles on my face
  • red inflammation rash on my face (infrequently)
  • really poorly-healing skin. I get lesion-type skin flare ups that never seem to heal. I currently have a scratch/cut on my breast that has been there for 6m because it doesn't heal over.
  • eczema flare ups when I get cold sores and shingles.
  • exhaustion when I have shingles - yesterday I had to sleep for three hours after going into work for a half day. I feel floored.

At other points of the year I feel completely fine. I don't get any muscle pain or joint issues.

Does this sound similar to anyone else?

I'm at my wit's end. Finally the doctor I saw today has said I need to see a specialist and has taken more bloods. If the white blood cells come back lowish, it'll be infectious diseases she said? If they're normal it'll be a dermatologist.
