Has anyone had problems with taking carbimazole and HRT oestrogen? Feel like am hypo when it's usually hyper that is the problem. Have got a swollen goiter and extreme fatigue but heart rate normal and no problems sleeping etc.. Been on the oestrogel for 6 weeks. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue. Got a call in with the consultant next week.,

No I'm sorry I don't have any answers, but I'm wondering myself how my thyroid disease (hypo) and menopause symptoms / HRT overlap iyswim. I still have such fatigue, gut problems and brain fog at times - it's got to be one medical issue or the other causing this but GP not interested.

Oestrogel shouldn’t interact with thyroid medication but maybe get your thyroid level checked? Some information here about it www.balance-menopause.com/menopause-library/thyroid-function-and-menopause/

@SpinningTheSeedsOfLove some of us can get gut issues in perimenopause - try eating more pre and probiotics in your diet (you can get them naturally in food) or look at reducing any potential irritants balance-menopause.com/uploads/2021/09/Bloating-and-bowel-problems-in-the-menopause.pdf

It can be very confusing with health conditions that have similar symptoms to menopause - I’ve been there! If your thyroid levels are normal then perhaps discuss your symptoms with your GP with a view to trying HRT?
