Could this be MS?

Hi
I appreciate no one can diagnose me but a doctors, but I’m just trying to work through some strange symptoms I’ve been having and would appreciate some input.

Urinary problems - specifically incomplete voiding. It happens every time I go to the toilet, I feel the urge to pee a lot more than I used to and I wake every night to pee. This all started approx 6-9 months ago.

More recently one sided leg issues. Possibly a slipped disc. Numbness, pins and needles in foot, diagnosed weakness in toes and sciatic type pain. This all started approx 2 months ago.

Generally very tired and body hurts, can’t sit for more than 10 mins without whole body aching. Always feeling run down and getting ill. Really bad dizzy spells, I’ve had these on/off for years.

A couple of years ago I had numbness on one side of my face and one arm, along with chest pains. Was all checked out and Clear mri.

All symptoms I’ve had have always been the right side of my body, not the left.

I’ve spoken with gp and bloods are being taken and it’s likely another mri will be done. He suspects disc issues. And part of me agrees but I worry that my symptoms together paint of a bit of a different picture. The urine problems are really bothering me. He thought possible just a weak pelvic floor but I thought that was more to do with coughing and peeing.

Any advice, thank you :)

You might have various issues. The bladder issue may be due to ageing, or something else, and have no connection with your other issues.

The pain could be disk related, as you doctor thinks.

The tiredness and body pain etc could be autoimmune.

Or, like you worry, it could all be connected.

You just need to get it all checked out.

Have you had your B12 checked? B12 deficiency can mimic MS symptoms.

Stellashere · 07/06/2021 21:33

Reassuring that your last mri was clear after your last spell of numbness. As @Nat6999 says vitamin deficiency can cause similar symptoms to MS

TableNiner · 07/06/2021 21:36

How old are you?

SkodaKodiaq · 07/06/2021 21:40

I have MS and have the exact same urinary issues! I can be sat on the toilet for 40 minutes sometimes! I also overheat immensely and I'm always sweating (on my face!) as a result. Can't wear make up :(
I am also constantly in pain and can barely walk. My dizziness is becoming horrific

Nat6999 · 08/06/2021 00:30

I've got exactly the same symptoms & have been diagnosed with B12 deficiency.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve had a quick read but to answer some questions - I am 33 and am having bloods taken tomorrow. I’ve had this weird symptoms intermittently over the past couple of years. I’m hoping it’s something like a vitamin deficiency! I would just like answers, I’m fed up of not feeling right

Just to update for those who replied :) So after a further GP appointment and the discovery of weakness in my leg and the same arm I’m being referred to neurology via the urgent pathway. Sadly it will still be a wait but at least I’m in the system.

Bloods all came back clear which is both good and bad I guess. I’ve been feeling really quite awful with bad dizzy spells which are leaving me feeling almost tipsy. It’s all a bit strange really

Could you have a tethered cord? You may have pinched the nerves at the very base of your spine and caused this problem. Have you fallen and had any coccyx injuries?

Bumblingb33 · 07/07/2021 11:51

Well I saw the neurologist and he thinks I have jumpy reflexes due to an overactive nervous system. Apparently some people just have this and it will settle on its own. He’s scheduled an MRI just to check but he thinks there is nothing sinister wrong. Obviously this is good news and I feel more positive but I’m also still worried about why I have one sided weakness and bad dizzy spells. If the MRI is clear, great but I guess it also means I need to live like this, with limbs that don’t seem to work properly. Anyway I’m getting ahead of myself before I’ve even had the MRI, it may show a bulging disc type issue which is what they originally thought anyway

Hi there, I know this is an old post but I was just wondering if you ever got a diagnosis? My son is currently experiencing similar and is under investigation. We are both very worried
