OLP -is it autoimmune??

I have been suffering from Oral Lichen Planus since five months now.I do not know much about this condition.Is It autoimmune?Are there any sufferers on this forum?

I have suffered with erosive oral lichen planus for about 12 years now. I also have elsewhere on my body. I have always been told it is autoimmune and I have gone on to develop hashimotos and b12 deficiency too. I have tried many immune suppressant therapies but not found that ‘wonder treatment’ yet. It’s just management of symptoms. How are you bearing up?

I have been given Flixonase steroid to be dissolved in water to be used as mouthwash twice a day and Dermovate steroid cream to be applied in mouth at night time.On some days symptoms are worse. some days are ok.It is really depressing to be told by medical practitioners that there is no treatment.

What helped in the management of symptoms for you?What did you do to cope up mentally with this disorder? It bogs me down mentally in a big way, feel really depressed about the way my life suddenly changed...
