Coeliac UK change to guidance policy on barley malt

Heads up to all coeliacs and carers for coeliacs.

Coeliac UK have changed their guidance policy on products containing barley malt. Hundreds of popular items have been removed from the Food and Drink Directory as a result - including almost all non-Free From supermarket brand cereals, malt vinegar and pickles/chutneys made from it, Vimto, Branston, a large number of Bisto products, crisps, cook-in sauces, etc.

Their new policy is to only re-list these items if they are provided with proof of gluten testing and the product is labelled 'gluten-free'.

The F&D Directory update can be downloaded from the CUK website and there's a News item explaining why.

Thanks for that Dog. Do you have a link? I can't find it on their website.

This is the News story they published, it explains it very badly and hides the most important information down the bottom. You can largely ignore the bit about GF beer as it's not new to anyone except CUK.
