Cimzia

Has anyone taken this? I just had tests and got the OK to go on it.

I was on MTX until two years ago when I went off to try to conceive. I'm currently on Hydroxocloroquine, after an allergic reaction to Sulfasalazine

I am worried about side effects/self inecting etc, but also optimistic. My joints have worsened since going off methotrexate, but I am keen to keep ttc. I also think (but have no evidence for this) that our struggles to conceive might be tied to my autoimmune issues. Our referral for that got frozen in March - but we know that I am ovulating normally. I am optimistic that Cimzia might help (not sure though?)

What are people's experiences of this? Thanks

Hi I’ve been taking Cimzia since July 2016 and it has been a real game changer for me. I changed to Cimzia after a really miserable time on Methotrexate - nausea that just kept getting worse every week.

I can’t think I have had any side effects; I don’t love the self injecting, but it is worth it.

I can’t help you re ttc as I am over 50.

I wish you lots of luck!

I'm on Cimzia as also ttc. The injecting thing wasn't an issue for me as I've done a few cycles of ivf.

It doesn't seem to be working for me. I still have some joint pain in my hands and wrists although i no longer have any pain elsewhere and it's a lot more predictable (I used to have different joints flaring each day but it's settled down to the same four now)

I'm quite gutted it hasn't been a game changer for me, and lockdown has stalled my checkups so I haven't actually seen my consultant since I started it 6 months ago.

Fingers crossed it works for you.

Not to gate crash your thread but I wish I was on cimzia. I was on roactemra but came off it to TTC and I'm flaring (I have RA).
Does RA effect your chances of conceiving? If anyone can sign post me somewhere that would be great as starting to get quite disheartened

@theotherfossilsister I know this thread is getting old now but I wondered how you are doing / or decided to start cimzia?

Hi, I've been on Cimzia for almost 12 months now after Humira ran it's course with me. I take it for severe juvenile arthritis and have had tremendous relief from it. I really hope you get the same relief
