Lymes Disease

So, if I went to my GP with suspected lymes disease (classic bulls eye rash), and they sent me for a Bordetella Pertussis blood test, would I be right in thinking they had messed up the blood test order?

My quick google tells me the bordetella pertissis test is for a whooping cough antibody. Nothing that I can see to do with Lymes (which I still think I have 6 months on).

Really struggling to get GP to take it seriously. They did the blood test after they saw the rash and I was given antibiotics (as per NICE) guidelines, but I'm still suffering and having requested my notes, it looks like they might have done the wrong test too?

All I can suggest is please please go private - it's a million % worth it, GP's know next to nothing about lymes and it's so important it's caught early and antibiotics taken - it can leave you in a wheelchair eventually if it's left untreated for years - just go for a private test and get it diagnosed so you can claim the correct treatment! Hi @Mumma1984 - have you had Lymes disease? Actually saw the gp again today, seemed very unsure about what other tests were available.

I think the test you need is called borrelia antibody, I don't have it but I thought I did and found my GP utterly useless so I did some investigating myself, I went to breakspear medical and was tested https://breakspearmedical.com/treatments/lyme-disease/?gclid=CjwKCAiA-vLyBRBWEiwAzOkGVJ4573FlOoJnKFjynp66mOwEjvDh0Umu3RQiqA-KV6lPYPhskWddxoCsMgQAvDD_BwE but I also now see that you can get a home test on that 'let's get checked' www.letsgetchecked.com/gb/en/home-lyme-disease-test/?imp=cpc&om=health15&gclid=CjwKCAiA-vLyBRBWEiwAzOkGVGotrlz3vqywBaBFJh9lepo9GBtLXtjDjMhhm5SGW69X57n991L-XRoCcQUQAvD_BwE I would def advise ignoring the GP because they just don't know anything about it and prob will continuously tell you that you have anxiety causing any symptoms !
