Autoimmune diet protocol

Anyone tried it? I have lupus, I take hydroxy and azathioprine. Azathioprine has been a wonder drug for the 9 months I've been on it, but I can feel the old pain on the horizon.

I need to lose weight, I'm addressing this, but I wondered if anyone had tried the ai diet and seen an improvement in inflammation levels? Im not fussed if it's been clinically efficient ie. a drop in crp/esr etc., ime bloods take too long to catch up and change too readily anyway. I'm just curious to see if anyone has found any benefit from it?

Thanks

Never heard of it, more info?.I have crohns, not now on aza but used to be.

I have tried it.

I think it has some great aspects - no processed junk food really makes a difference to anyone's state of health.

But it is restrictive/antisocial, and for me, all that focus on meat made me very unwell.

I still follow parts of it, but I would find it impossible to give up everything the diet recommends.

@TARSCOUT this is a great article showing a study of it for Crohn's and UC. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5647120/

An overview of the diet here: www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320195.php

I don't know much about it myself, and still in the finding out stages.

@ParsleyPot thank you. I don't think id struggle too much...I can't eat dairy af ITT makes me vomit, do the rest looks doable. Only looked at it briefly though do I could be very wrong. :)

I have been on it for over 2 years and have put my RA into full remission. I am still on it for my Hypopituatoryism. There's a good Facebook group called AIP in the UK.

@Samcotton85 thank you. Just in the process of joining that group. Lasts see! Glad it's worked for youth, seems hopeful.
