Alongside blood test and endoscopy?

No you don't need a scan just the blood test and the biopsy - in children they'll diagnose without the biopsy if the blood levels are sufficiently high.

🤔 why am I being sent for a scan then?... worried now!

What kind of scan? They must be considering another diagnosis as well as/ instead of coeliac.

No but I was sent for a dexa scan and a liver ultrasound post diagnosis

Dexa scan because coeliac disease puts you at increased risk of osteoporosis. So it's not for the coeliac disease, but because you have it.

But I haven’t ‘officially’ been diagnosed yet. Positive blood test, still awaiting results of biopsies.

I don’t know what scan it is. When I phoned my Gp she said I had been referred to a hospital to see a dietitian and something about a scan 🤷‍♀️

I think if you have been tested for coeliac disease and then referred to a dietician then you have been diagnosed, even though they haven't told you yet, because dieticians do management and monitoring of coeliac disease. If your blood test is high enough then the diagnosis is pretty certain. As others say, the scan is almost certainly a DEXA scan to check your bone strength. That's pretty much routine if you are diagnosed over a certain age (though I can't remember what it is).
