I have been diagnosed with colitis by the consultant. I am having a colonoscopy a week on Monday. I have always suffered with heartburn and also have been getting very stressed. Recently it has got worse and the pain is there most of the time which includes sore throat, chronic pain in oesphagus and knawing stomach pains. I have recently been on two lots of antibiotics. I also have shortness of breath and feel my throat is tightening. I am on ppi and gaviscon but they don't seem to work. The doctor has given me a test for gastritis and I will probably be sent for gastrocopy. The symptoms in my chest scare me and I am now panicking it could be something serious!!!! Any advice would be appreciated.
