Best Italian places in Melbourne CBD?

Hello! I'm from Melbourne originally, and here with DS1 (16) and DS2 (14) for a few weeks.

We have a day in Melbourne tomorrow and I'm keen to take them to a really good, family friednly Italian place. It fits all our various food issues (Vegetarian, autism sensory related issues and peanut allergies). We have already been to my childhood favourite Pelligrinis when we first came and feel we have exhausted the options around Degraves street. I'm not sure we can get all the way up to Lygon street due to timing issues and other commitments on the day.

I'd love some ideas that people suggest!!! TIA. Smile

Florentino, on Bourke St, if it's in your price range, is still lovely, classic and delicious. Or, you could catch the Lygon St tram up to Brunswick East (better now than main drag of Lygon in Carlton) and go to Zia Teresa; lovely family Italian still in traditional style.

It’s very old fashioned, but I have a soft spot for The Waiter’s Club, upstairs on Meyers Place, near Parliament.

Ooh, yes, haven't been to the Waiter's Club for years, but very fun! Great idea!

I left Melb years ago but when I'm in town I love going to Il Bacaro in Little Collins st. Not cheap but sooo good!
