I'll be meeting my daughter in Fitzroy for lunch - Rice Paper Scissors.
While I know she'll have some thoughtful gift, I anticipated my own needs and bought a present from me to me: a really big heated throw.

On pottering round Southland yesterday, something I rarely do, comparing throws, I was charmed by how many men were out shopping with their children. How lovely to see so many men being proper parents. It took a quite a while for the penny to drop - they were buying the MD pressies. God, I'm thick sometimes.

Any way, a happy Mother's Day to all you mums, and to your mums too.

Happy mother’s day.
We went out for brunch last Sunday to the Hatter and the Hare in Bayswater as I have a course this weekend.
It was lovely and I got some sweet treats to have at home as well.
DC paid for brunch and I got posh bubble bath and body lotion as I really enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub.
Enjoy your day

It’s a beautiful sunny Autumn day in Sydney, DD made me dippy eggs for breakfast and I got some lovely presents from her and her brother including a bottle of Moët we will open later. My eldest phoned and we had a long chat and he said he will swing by later with his wife and daughter. DIL is super close to her mum so I didn’t want to complicate things by issuing an invite and making them choose - we often spend celebratory days with both families together but it has gotten more complicated with the addition of siblings’ partners - so myself, DH and the other two are off for a pub lunch. Am hoping it’s roast beef on the menu 😊 Enjoy your day.

I went to a fancy French restaurant with a friend on Friday and to The Sapphires with my mother yesterday. The Sapphires is excellent.

Today, DH is still unwell so we're doing nothing. I will make a cake this arvo and we are planning to go to a nice garden centre tomorrow with our son and buy plants.

We had a pancake picnic in the botanical gardens in Wollongong, toddler ate his body weight in whipped cream and then we fed the ducks, toddler ate most of the corn/peas 😂

Happy Mother's Day!

We did the Mothers Day Classic here in Melbourne. Two turns around the Tan - 8km walk to raise money for Breast & Ovarian cancer research.

A lovely morning here.

I saw a lot on pink T-shirted women at Flinders Street Station and wondered where the run was. Good on you.

In another chap-related observation, I was in Myer women's lingerie on Sunday and a slightly agitated chap came up to the assistant I was talking to, wanting to know where ladies' singlets were. The assistant looked momentarily baffled as Myer is plainly more of a camisole place. He'd so plainly left his Mother's Day pressie very very late.

As an aside, when I came to Australia 20 years ago, the lingerie departments of Myer and David Jones were still called "Intimate Apparel" - very Ladies in Black.
