Any other Mums of children on the NDIS want to have a moan?

There must be more of us!

My latest whinge- My DS8 sees an OT weekly, amongst other therapies. Typically, you put in the claim, and it's paid within 2 days.

One claim was outstanding for over a week, so I called & spoke to a lovely man, who said he couldn't see what the problem was. All he could do was forward to the Payments Investigation Team. (Side note- at least the govt haven't outsourced the NDIS call centre overseas.... yet).

I asked if I should submit the next claim (OT is every Friday) and he said yes, do that. So I have. Problem is, the OT have 7 day payment terms & a 48-hour cancellation policy. So, if I don't have at least the 1st payment (of almost $200) paid by NDIS by tomorrow, I'll have to cancel the next appointment.

Sorry for the whinge! Please tell me of your own stories. I have a few worse ones to share.

We currently have over $10 000 worth of invoices for respite which have gone unpaid since December. They have ignored my emails and the emails from the service provider. She says she rang them and was told there are no problems and they will be paid. I'm trying to escalate it higher as it is ridiculous. If they don't pay I am changing plan managers yet again.

The invoices and the services all match what is needed for respite since Oct 3.

And today I got 3 copies of the same letter all in separate envelopes telling me that 'our request for a review of funding' has been denied. Comes as a surprise to me as we never ever asked for a review of funding, we asked for support co-ordination to be switched to plan managed which they agreed to last week. After requesting that I provide a report from both psychiatrist and psychologist by 4pm of that day.

Far out, that is terrible. 10K? I feel sick for you.

My situation is probably more simple, in that I only have one child & I'm self-managing. DS8, Neurofibromatosis Type 1 with ODD, likely ADHD, ID, and leg length discrepancy. Left leg much longer so that foot is pronated, the Ortho Surgeons at RCH are considering surgery to stop growth.

Meanwhile still no payment. I wonder if this has anything to do with the change of Minister for NIDS? Bill Shorten was awful.

3 letters for the same thing? What bullshit.
