I'm late to watch it but I really enjoyed it. A fun movie with some very talented Australian actors, plus American actor Bobby Carnivale who is really quite lovely in this.
It reminded me of Strictly Ballroom. Eccentric characters and the sets were saturated with colour so visually fun too.
For part of my childhood I lived in the country with my grandparents and my teenage aunts and uncle. They were very into country western music and as adults they used to travel to Tamworth for the annual country music festival. I didn’t realise until watching it how many country music songs I know.
