At least where I live. Grin

The rolled up, plastic-clad newspaper, hurled out of the sun roof of the agent's car about 5.00.a.m. each day is no more. It's flat-packed now. No more annoying trying to find the edge of the shrink-wrap to unfurl the paper. Then giving up and trying scissors.

I can re-live this if I watch the opening sequence of Kath and KIm episodes.

Pretty sure there was lamenting when kids on newspaper round were phased out too.

Eh ?

My daughter is living out in Joey land ,
Perhaps she will know what your talking 👄 about...L.o.l 😆

Surely flatpacked isn’t aerodynamic. How do they fly through the air to land in some random place, hopefully in the vicinity of your front lawn?

I’m old enough to remember the pre-plastic wrap days when they were rolled up and bound with a brown paper cuff.

I subscribe to my newspapers online- means I can read them at 3am if I want to, and my neighbour’s dog can’t shred it.

Maybe it’s a bit like throwing a discus? Only a rectangle shaped one? Is it even possible? Spin it like an empty pizza box? I’m almost tempted to go outside and practice. Except the heatwave.

I'm in Perth and mine is still a soggy plastic clad cylinder, perfectly flung on the lawn to get maximum sprinkler soakage!

Ours have been flat packed for years (NZ) - much better, trying to find the end of the plastic used to drive me mad!

However, I now read it at the library so even easier.
