Black pudding help!

Aussie MNers...I bloody love black pudding, nothing I've had since moving here comes close to Stornoway or Dingwall black pudding! I've Found alternatives for just about everything else, but this is one thing I can't! Anyone have any fabulous recommendations? We're in Adelaide but happy to mail order, and in other major cities fairly frequently for work. Please help!

Find your best local butcher. If they don't already sell it, ask them & they might know another butcher who does.

I agree, the supermarket varieties I've tried at Coles & Woollies are NOT good. Too mealy and bland. I know a good butcher who does them once a month but I'm in Southern Vic.

I haven't tried these English varieties you mention, bet they're delicious! Love a good black pudding! My Dad used to feed it to us on Salada crackers with butter, mmmm.

Couldn't resist a quick google (was wondering if people do mail order black pudding at all!)- this might be worth a shot? Am tempted myself now you've got me craving it 😂

Arrrgh! My apologies, I didn't know!

Guess that explains why I was fed it as a child though. My family were Scottish immigrants to Australia. Oops!

Not Black pudding, but I recommend British Sausage Company Pork Pies for a taste of home.
Only this brand, others are vile & dry.

If you're heading to Victoria, Rob's British Butcher's in Dandenong is very good.

Woolies sells Clonakilty black pudding (the best Irish black pudding ever 😁).

I am in Perth and Woollies does Clonakilty black pudding, which is the best (I used to live near Clonakilty and had relatives that worked in the sausage/pudding factory). McLoughlin's butchers in Malaga sells it too.
