How is Christmas Eve shaping up at your house?

It's almost 5pm, big glass of wine here. DS7 is bouncing off the walls with instructions on how/when he's going to catch Santa in the act. Could be a looong night.

Thankfully, praise Jesus, we don't have to drive to see family tomorrow as we usually do. Just us, a few local friends and big rolled pork roast for the bbq.

Roast potatoes, onions & carrots, green beans, sprouts for me, maybe corn fritters if I can be bothered.

Tell me of your plans, might help put me more in the mood 😀

It’s not even 6am in the uk so not much happening yet. I’m the only one up (have been since 4am)

Not in mood either. Might buy a newspaper that's about all. Home alone by choice so am.playing it by ear. Tell ur child Santa won't come ic he doesn't go to sleep

Very grumpy children as I have been tidying all day and not paying them enough attention. A half tidied house at my mother’s who refuses to move but struggles with housework in a big house. Got to get these kids to bed and finish the house off.

@BCBird from here, being home alone doesn't sound half-bad. I crave silence!

Might buy a newspaper? I hope that's not a treat for you in general.

I am thankful I only have 1 grumpy/overexcited child. Must remember this.

I’ve been cleaning and tidying so that everything will look beautiful and calm and cosy. It’s raining so feels somewhat suitably dark and wintry with the air con turned up, Netflix fireplace and carols playing!

Everything is wrapped and ready. We’re going to have a barbecue and watch a Christmas movie all cuddled up together later. I love it so much.

I’m about to do some food and drink preparations for tomorrow with a mulled wine, but having a little rest first!

Total fire ban here and 37 degrees forecast. Do I light the Weber first thing tomorrow or not? Absolutely no rain in the horizon.

Watching Open All Hours for elderly DF. Joy.

Where are you @TheSandgroper ? Love those Xmas weather dilemmas.

We're trying to do roast pork on the BBQ spit but the wind is vicious here (southern Vic, the wind howls up from the southern ocean) and seems to be cooling the BBQ. Dinner will be typically late.

I’m in the heatwave state. Perth got to about 37-40 degrees before the sea breeze came in. But the aircon took care of that.

I did light the Weber at about 7 so closed it down at 10. No one came to put it out so all good.

Good luck with your howling southerly.
