An unearthly silence has fallen on the suburb where I live, where just before it was people jumping into pools and screaming at/with loud music.

I don't follow racing but it was the silence got me. Ten minutes to go.

I'm at work. Up until a few tears ago we used to have a bbq and all watch on a big screen, and have a sweepstake. This year, nothing. Think it has fallen out of fashion a bit. I won't be watching anyway, although some of my friends have taken the day off to go the pub in silly hats.

I'm watching online.

I was trying to put a bet on Vauban but can't work it out!!

Probably lucky then!

Nup to the cup from me! Not interested in horse racing it’s cruel.

We watched at work, had a late lunch and bubbles for those in the office. Definitely scaled back from previous years when there was more of a go all out mentality.

Thats why it’s called ‘The race that stops the nation’, because traditionally everyone stopped. Now most do but not all, which is ok.
