Lunch for 16 in Melbourne

Help me out Melburnians

I'm looking for somewhere in Melbourne or surrounds to organise a reunion lunch for 16. Ideally a private room or at least somewhere that is not just a big table in a noisy restaurant. Would be nice to have views or open outlook. Age range 15-80 with a mix of carnivores and vegetarians so menu can't be too limited. Happy to pay $$ for quality food with nice atmosphere and good service. It's been a long time since I was in Melbourne so I have no idea where to start.

Your trick is to google 'private dining rooms' in Melbourne--there is quite a good list here. On that list for your requirements I would recommend either the Builder's Arms (McConnell's vegetarian food is excellent), or Maha, but I haven't tried everywhere!

The botanical have a room that size which might look onto the gardens? I was thinking about it for my birthday this year.
