Hey
Would anyone know the process of how to get the amgevita injection in Australia? Can you join the health insurance if you're from Ireland?

Looking to head over with my friend but were not sure if she is able to access her injections over there or what the process is?

Is this a holiday or long term? I’m a Dublin girl living in Aus, you would be entitled to use Medicare in limited situations, I think the phrase is “immediate and necessary treatment” but I don’t know how far that stretches tbh. Usually for injections here you would get a prescription from your GP, have it filled at the pharmacy (paid) then return to the surgery for a nurse to administer. You would pay for the doctor/nurse appointments as you would in Ireland. I don’t think a visitor would be entitled to the subsidised prescription price so it would be a private prescription which means you pay the full cost of the medicine. Could she bring it with her then she is only looking for someone to administer?

A quick google search for that medication on a private prescription was giving a price of $920!
