Your child's school Christmas artwork

Do your kids bring a sheet of Christmas artwork home from school this time of year, and you can order Christmas merchandise from it? Do you do it? Last year rather than order anything i just kept the actual artwork (otherwise it just gets sent off and you don't get to keep it). This year their artwork is so good that it would be good for gifts but then I want to keep the original as well (maybe I'm being too precious). Also the merchandise on offer isn't that great (like no tea towels). Just wondering what other people do

I bought it, my daughter is in nursery and brings home ‘artwork’ every day so I had no desire to keep the original 😂

you could colour photocopy or photograph the original before it’s sent off if you really want to frame the original?

We don't get the actual artwork come home. Usually order some cards to send to family as it supports the school and my family like the cards.

I think we’ve had the original back before-just ask the school.

LMAO this week we got a piece of paper with some sequins glued to it which fell off in DDs bag on the way home so I had to pin a blank piece of sugar paper to the fridge.
I wouldn't order anything with the artwork on personally, but I know some people really go for that sort of thing. I still don't fully understand what possessed my mother to order 24 of the cups from my sister's primary school one year on which my sister's drawing didn't make the final cut, along with a teatowel which did (along with all the rest of the class's drawings).

We got the original back this year

The company our school uses sends all the artwork back. It’s called Art Projects for Schools.

I tend to order Christmas cards but nothing else

I always order the cards - it's a nice little yearly memento and well worth a fiver (we get 12 small cards for £5:30ish) and have started a little tradition with DS that I buy his the mug with his art of it, but pretend I haven't, and then pop it in his stocking along with a pack of hot choc/marshmallows. So we have a few mugs now too. DD is less bothered about hot choc but I've occasionally ordered gift tags or wrapping paper with her design on too.

My Grandma died earlier this year and still had my tea towel from 1989 in her drawer.

We always get the tea towel and the DC love getting them out every Dec 1st. We use them until Jan 6th. DH gets a mug and uses it as his work mug.
