New embroidery hobby

I love taking up new hobbies and thought I'd try embroidery. These are my first two pieces. Can anyone offer any tips to improve? The one on the left is meant to be Bergen in Norway by the way!

i really wanted to start punch needle this year but got the wrong kit for Christmas and haven’t got round to buying something for myself

They look great! You can also split your thread to get different thicknesses - would work well for the plant one
