Hi guys, So this week I got my watercolours out again and painted another abstract flower, this ones a 'Daffodil'. What do you think of this one? I felt I messed up the 'bell' of the flower a little.. do you like it?

Hope you're enjoying your fathers day x

(PS -In case anybody complains.. I feel like posting on these forums gives me the confidence to either sell/not sell a new painting.. hence why i'm pretty active on this forum.. the constructive advice really helps me out! so thank-you )

Beautiful colours

anametouse · 17/06/2018 14:02

Can I tell you, I generally hate this kind of stuff (not a fan of water colours, don't like pictures of flowers) but I really like yours. It has a certain something to it, I don't know what

@Guardsman18

That's lovely, really like the colours and shape of the flower. Well done you!

Inkinfusions · 17/06/2018 19:53

@Sunflowersforever
Thankyou for your kind words.. I was pleased with the shape of the flower too, I love it when watercolours make shapes and the colours merge naturally. x

That's beautiful.

I've bought your picture!

You're not charging enough. My sunflower cost £50 and that was about 15 years ago.

Sunflowersforever · 17/06/2018 20:18

Actually, was 10 years ago. Thought it was before my daughter was born, but apparently not.

RandomMess · 17/06/2018 20:24

I really like them too!

It is that certain something they have as someone upthread said.

DianaBlythe · 17/06/2018 20:29

Do you sell? I would love a daffodil painting to go in my daffodil bedroom. Been keeping an eye out for ages.

Inkinfusions · 17/06/2018 20:39

@RandomMess
Thankyou so much, it's lovely that you find them unique.
The encouraging comments on this thread have filled me with much confidence! x

I love them. They really do have something about them. It’s the way you’re able to work with bright, strong colours - you’re able to blend them beautifully but they still retain their individuality and contrast. Very stark but pleasant to look at.

Thank-you so much! I love working with bright colours, I am so pleased that you feel that they are blended beautifully. Watercolour is such a fun medium to work with..Hearing lovely comments such as this makes painting even more worthwhile and fulfilling. x

Would love to see your "take" on my pets! You very much do an impression rather than a reproduction which is what I love.
