Cotton bag question

I've got some cheap design your own shopping bags, I'm planning to add crochet hearts and flowers for gifts. How would you attach?

Sew them on with dk wool to match crochet? (Might distort with same size wool)

Sew on with best match cotton and hope not to visible

Try gluing with fabric glue (will this fall apart if bag needs washing?)

Glue the hell out of it with glue gun that might withstand quick dunking

Or wonder web???

Hi I might be a bit late here, but what about adding loops at strategic places on the back of your crochet (with wool), then sewing these loops with thread to your bag. I agree other sticking methods won't last long in a wash.
