DEBBIE BLISS is joining us TODAY (Wednesday 4 December) for a webchat between 1-2pm.

We're inviting you to show your knitting creations off to Debbie. Post pics up of your projects and she will be helping us judge. We'll choose our favourite three and the winners will each win a copy of Debbie's book Knits For You and Your Home. We'll keep the comp open until Friday morning 10am and we'll announce the winner before the end of day on Friday. Debbie will be looking at this thread before and during the webchat so if you want her response or help with anything, do post your pics up on this thread.

All gifts for others - a pom pom knitted blanket with a crocheted border. The pom pom is fun to knit with and knits up quick but casting off is a pita! I ended up casting off in the wool I used for a border none knitting into the back and front of each pom pom stitch, then a second row of front, back and picking up a stitch in between and then a final casting off row. Otherwise it puckers terribly and ruins the look of what is otherwise a gorgeously soft and fluffy blanket!

The little poncho was crocheted for a friend's little girl and I loved how it turned out and the little owl is an iPhone/iPod case for the little girl's big brother. Very cute with little beads in the centre of his eyes :)

Not quite finished but only second time I have done a steek and then discovered the pattern was VERY wrong and I had pull lots out which is not good when you have just cut up your jumper!! Anyway the zip is in and I will finish it in time for my son to wear it for his 6th birthday party...

There are some amazing works of art here! Fossil, I remember when you submitted that digger dozer cardigan to a knitting magazine!
This cowl is the thing I am most proud of knitting. I made it for my mother, and I used a Fairisle charts book, basically doing whichever pattern and colours took my fancy. Nothing fair Isle cam scare me now! It's a tube of a tube, if that makes sense.

My favourite made-it-up-as-I-went-along cardigan for my DS. Cotton aran weight with cables on front, middle of sleeves and edge of hood; wide rib on the back. Closes with a chunky zip. Fits a large 8 month old.

I love knitting- keeps me sane!
Too many jumpers haven't fitted once finished so I now focus on blankets and hats- painting through my knitting, decorating them with my own patterns- sometimes inspired by others. This Spinosaurus hat for my son was my take on Lucinda Guy's Stegosaurus.
The bright blanket I finished whilst in hospital waiting for my labour to kick in (baby Thea is now 6weeks old!) My Mum despairs of me- I finished my bridesmaid's card the morning of my wedding!

Debbie has now chosen her three favourite creations and big congratulations to SuperNappy, 3littlewomen and WillieWaggledagger. Here's Debbie's thoughts:

"I really like these three:

SuperNappy's blanket has beautiful colours, you could put it on a wall!

3littlewomen's blanket: "I know how long it took me to knit the swatch so know the effort it took to make the whole blanket!"

Willie's jumper: "I love guernseys, a wonderful part of our knitting history and what a lovely idea to use patterns from areas that had a special significance. Also I love her saying how much blood .sweat and tears go into designing sweater!"

We'll be in touch about claiming your prizes by PM. Thanks again to all those who shared their pictures.

3littlewomen · 06/12/2013 16:48

Thank you so much... the first time I have EVER won anything!!

I am so chuffed Debbie has looked at my work... and in shock she picked me as one of the winners when the standard of entries was so high! The blanket was a work of love and is loved by little boy - DH however got "the look" when he suggested I throw together a spare!!Hmm

Hello, just a post to congratulate 3littlewomen on winning (and having excellent taste!) and to say I gave birth to my little bee on Thursday night, nearly 7lb of exquisite baby girl. So ready to snuggle up to her blankie once I've finished the last few rows and initialled it!
