Debbie Bliss competition - show off your knitting / crocheting creations on this thread to enter.

DEBBIE BLISS is joining us TODAY (Wednesday 4 December) for a webchat between 1-2pm.

We're inviting you to show your knitting creations off to Debbie. Post pics up of your projects and she will be helping us judge. We'll choose our favourite three and the winners will each win a copy of Debbie's book Knits For You and Your Home. We'll keep the comp open until Friday morning 10am and we'll announce the winner before the end of day on Friday. Debbie will be looking at this thread before and during the webchat so if you want her response or help with anything, do post your pics up on this thread.

Got back into knitting inspired by visits to Iceland. Unfortunately no pictures of me wearing the Icleandic jumper as my tension was still a bit tight after 20 years of no knitting, so it's a bit small that'll teach me to do a tension square

I did the one twin's white jumper first and then the second one for her brother on the basis that she could get it once it was too small for him.

Meet Hunnybunny, sitting on the Sampler Blanket, both from Debbie's book Blankets, Bears and Booties and knitted for my first LO. The bunny was knitted after some very stressful tests I had early on in my pregnancy, and was very therapeutic to knit.

We are currently sitting waiting for our induction appointment at the hospital, so she'll soon be able to test them out, and I'll be able to add her initials and date to the corner of the sampler!

The bunny was knitted from DB cotton/bamboo, the sampler from the gorgeous, luxurious baby cashmerino (just don't tell my husband how much it cost!)

The sampler was my first cable project, and the biggest knit I've done so far, the instructions were really easy to follow, any mistakes were purely mine!

Oh, and you can see I still have a few lines to finish on the sampler, just time before I head off to the hospital!

Albiebee, you knitted the same as me.... my DH suggested I knit a second sampler blanket as a spare as the baby loves it so much.... how I laughed (with a slightly hollow tone..)!

I made a bunny from left over cashmerino and Olly loves to suck on the ears!

I finished my sampler when I was in with shocking gestational diabetes. Best of luck with your induction - very exciting few days for you, then your baby with be all wrapped and snug.

My unfinished cowl is now smaller than it was when I posted my picture :o

I found a mistake and had to frog about 3 rows. Still, better I notice it now than when I'd finished!

I knitted Bradley Wiggins for my mum (she's a huge fan). I used a basic figure from a pattern, and made up the yellow jersey/Team Sky outfit. Trickiest bit to get right was his hair and sideburns - I knitted about 4 different wigs until I got one that looked OK.

These three are a blanket I crocheted for a friend, a waterfall cardigan I knitted for myself (it has sequins in the yarn), and a basket I crocheted from pink garden twine.

I am trying to teach myself crochet at the moment and this is a cowl scarf I made. The flower is held on by a button (that just goes through the natural hole in the middle of a crochet flower) so in theory I can make loads of different things to attach to it. Planning a seasonal snowflare for it next :)

I have no pictures what there is is on the woolly hugs website but apart from the joining i doubt there's any way to tell which were my squares!

This scarf was a labour of love which took ages and ages...is lace mohair and took forever. Very satisfying once I had finished and am plucking up the courage to knit another.

Rather proud of this and I just finished it tonight - the wreath is covered with a 'sock' of striped crochet and then finished with pom-poms. A LOT of pom-poms

I can't make pom-poms, Minnie - I remember trying to make them when I was at school, and failing dismally - and I have tried again recently, and still no joy.

I taught myself to knit in the Easter holiday this year and have had great fun in recent week preparing xmas gifts and requests from family and friends.
