DMC Thread

Can anyone tell me if the DMC thread color code is the same in both the US and the UK? I have several US patterns that I'd like to do but live in the UK. I thought I read somewhere YEARS ago that the numbers are different colors here versus there, but I can't seem to find that information any more.

I'm pretty sure it's the same. I have some old US cross stitch magazines (gorgeous patterns!) and they were certainly the same back then.
