I have an oldish second hand pair of pinking shears which I can't use as they are blunt. They worked about an inch from tip in, but Ds decided to cut shiney cardboard with them (grrrr!)and they no longer cut. At all. Nothing!
Do any of you lovely crafty people know how they can be sharpened please? preferably here at home for nil £'s...

Good job I looked at the title before posting as I'd typed Oinking Shears that's what happens when Dd watches Pepper Pig all afternoon!

do you have one of those round long thin knife sharpeners? would be a bit tedious but could be done. if you bought a knife sharpener at leats you could use it for others knifes at home.

i used to cut foil with mine to sharpen them years ago. not sure if this still works.

Thank you for answering.
Do you mean a steel? I do have one of those, but wouldn't have given it a thought for pinking shears...hmmmmmm...thank you, I may get that out and give it a go, though cutting foil sounds easier. I did wonder about cutting sandpaper, but wasn't sure. Any thoughts?

Hi there, a wad of foil works as does sandpaper, but its supposed to be fine stuff or it will damage the blade, hope this helps
