I have red netting and elastic for waistband.

Tis for 2 yr tiny 80cms high dd

AM thinking, fold over at top, stitch and insert elastic to req waist sz

what about making it neat at the bottom?

You could bias bind it with some matching/contrasting ribbon.

I dont think you need to do much though. Netting doesnt fray so you could get away with leaving it unfinished

Just leave the bottom...non need to finish it at all.

My friend has just made a really easy one for DD. Elastic for the waist and strips of net tied on all the way round.

Perfect for dressing up. Not really neat but very easy, no sewing and looks fab!

Here's a you tube clip of similar. I'm planning to make lion manes the same way, on a hairband for dressing up!

thank you, didn't think of you tube.

YY, sew elastic into circle to fit waist and tie on strips of net.
If you feel like adding anything at a later date I have put shiny ribbon and ripped up voile strips onto ones for DD's, they fray and look really cute.

One tip, put the elastic round your thigh whiel you tie on the net, makes it soo mmuch easier!

my daughter made herself the strips of net type very easy and effective.

there are videos on youtube!! When I made tutus for dd1 (many years ago, she's now 14) I did similar to your suggestion - folding over the top except my fold was at the middle of the width of fabric. Hope that makes sense.

I have watched a clip using strips of tulle and knotting them over your elastic. You can buy tulle on the roll but seems to be more expensive here than in the states?
