home-made soya candles - won't stay alight HELP!

I have made these as per the very long thread a few weeks back. Soya wax flakes, scent and few drops essential oil. They are poured into small glass tumblers from Tesco approx 150ml of finished candle wax. Wicks are pre-waxed and dropped in when half set. They look and smell beautiful and are intended for family presents tomorrow. However, disaster - I lit one last night as a tester, and the flame is really small, only burning down the wax probably 2-3 cm diameter around wick - diameter of glass probably double that. Any idea why and how I can remedy it?

I suspect that the wick isn't thick enough to burn the fuel around it so they drown.

You could remelt them and pour into narrower moulds
