Calling all knitters of longies/shorties.....picking up stitches for legs help required

I am at the leg knitting stage of my longies and really stuck. I have leg 2 and the front and back crotch on stitch holders and the remaining leg stitches on DPNs. I need to pick up six stitches to make the thighs big enough, but I cannot understand the pattern for the life of me. Can anyone translate?

"Use your working yarn to pick up the stitches on both soides of the crotch gusset (form individual stitches by drawing your working yarn through the stitches right next to each of the stitch holders, dividing your new stitches evenly among both sides) and out these stitches onto your first DPN"

I sort of understand what it's trying to do, but I can't see where I'm picking the stitches up from?

I've had a look on you tube for a video, but all I'm getting is short row tutorials.

Thanks in advance

had a lok on ravelry, is this pattern here similar to yours?

by the look of that pattern you pick up sts from along the edge of the gusset.

Ah, that looks much clearer than the instructions I have thanks . My pattern (downloaded from ravelry as well) shows completing the gusset after the knitting the legs, but of course it makes sense to do the gusset first and then you have something to work to!

Thanks muchly
