Cricut questions, just a few of them!

I was lucky enough to buy a cricut recently. Absolutely love it and have been playing with it lots, plus doing lots of extra research (aka lusting after other things to buy for it).

I do have a few questions though which I wonder if more experienced cricutters could help with.

Is there any reason why not to buy pre-used cartridges?

I do quite like the look of a tool kit, but I'm debating over simply buying the tool kit at about £20 or whether to buy the cricut essential box for about £50. That has extra blades and mats which I know I'll need the tool kit, a cutter (already have one but it's not the best, does this cut the paper/card to cricut size?) It seems the paper would be the freebie extras if I bought the box. It's the cutter I'm not sure about.

What about these deep cut blades and housing? I have the 6x12 version, if I eventually buy these can I cut thicker card/chipboard. How useful are these?

I have 3 cartridges so far, george, animal kingdom and walk in the garden. What cartrridges do you use a lot? I will be using it for making cards, scarpbooking but also for cutting out things for toddler group (this is proving to be blumming brilliant, 50 ovals just like that!)

Think that's it for now, will probably be back for more. LOL

Bump in the hope that some crafters are about.
